...there is something noble about artworks that refuse to be photographed. It is as if they wish to retain all their powers, and fear photography would steal part of this from them, akin to the tribesmen who feared the missionary equipped with a Kodak.
Many have experienced wiping the mirror in the steamy bathroom to find one’s face, and what a small face it is! Or are we slightly annoyed that the steam has momentarily obscured our narcissism?
Is art research? Can research exist without words?
